Madrid’s exclusive street, Gran Vía , was completely remodeled to provide more pedestrian space and reduce vehicle traffic in the city center. Consequently , this trend was increasingly common in European cities.. In this project, SETGA made a highly customized installation with 95 traffic lights SX traffic lights and exclusive SX traffic poles.
Each traffic light and gantry had optics oriented according to the site plan , which allowed for multiple different configurations adapted to the required turning angles at each crossing or crosswalk. Furthermore , these elements were equipped with directional loudspeakers, achieving a total adaptation of both the elements and the space where they were located. As a result , the equipment was customized to meet the needs of each environment.
Moreover, by departing from traditional traffic light standards, the SX series brought an avant-garde character that nurtured the unique identity of each space. The slenderness and symmetry of its cylindrical outlines gave life to an innovative stainless steel ensemble. The vocation was to enrich the urban experience in terms of comfort, safety and personality.
Certainly, this special and unmistakable design reflected the commitment to urban redevelopment in Madrid, creating a safer and more accessible environment for pedestrians. The SX series represented a significant innovation in the field of traffic lights, standing out for its ability to adapt to the specific needs of the public space.
Basically, working with SETGA was essential to bring these technological advancements to life, significantly enhancing the everyday experience of pedestrians on Gran Vía. By incorporating LED innovations into urban infrastructure, functionality was improved while also infusing a contemporary aesthetic flair into the heart of Madrid.
