Lowlander collection continues to expand at the Green Capital of Europe in Nijmegen

The Lowlander collection continues to expand at the European Green Capital Nijmegen. The Lowlander lantern collection continues to conquer Dutch cities. This time the Lowlander II series has been selected to illuminate the residential area of Soetegaerde in Waalsprong, the newest district of Nijmegen.

Lowlander is the product of co-creation with Dutch lighting experts and professionals. In 2018 Nijmegen won the European Green Capital of the Year award, thanks to the degree of circularity of this Setga model, making it one of the most iconic luminaires in the Netherlands.

All models of the Lowlander Collection, in their different versions, adapt to any type of location, adapting to the most special areas and standardising in the municipality of Nijmegen. This is according to Arnoud Janson, the landscape architect in charge of the project, and Gerarld van Meijgaarden, the quality manager for street lighting in Nijmegen.

The municipality has started to pay close attention to the origin of the materials, the environmental costs of outdoor products and the lifetime of these products.

Setga consulted extensively with the municipality on the criteria to be met by outdoor products, which resulted in a modular luminaire and agreements with all suppliers on the return of the product at the end of its life cycle.
