Modest and honest human design resulting from co-innovation and the cohesion of public space. This is the Dutch essence of Lowlander. Very much in keeping with the origin of ancestral light bodies, the cylindrical geometry creates a light atmosphere characterized by precision and optical control.

ORIGIN AND EVOLUTION

The Lowlander is the product of co-creation between Dutch light experts and professionals, the result of evolving the concept of urban lamp into a dynamic, versatile and living series. From posttop applications to catenary systems and arms equipped with upper anchorage, responding to the multiple challenges of the contemporary public space. In order to minimize light pollution, preserve the nostalgic effect of light body and speed up future maintenance processes, the Lowlander separates the lighting effect of the main LED module and the upper beaconing system, keeping both physical elements in a single compact and removable optical group. This modular architecture also enables the creation of different colour effects on the upper light body, accentuating the transition between different urban areas.

MATERIALS AND STRUCTURE

The Lowlander body consists of a main structure of AISI 316 or AISI 314 Stainless Steel, two cylindrical PMMA diffusers with UV protection and different optional fixation systems made of L-2520 (EN 44100) cast aluminium.
The dual, independent and removable LED optical group, whose watertightness rating is IP67, is integrated into an L-2520 (EN 44100) cast aluminium heat sink chassis.
Finally, incorporation of the driver into an insulated compartment generates an optimal thermal gap, preventing inefficient heat transfer to sensitive components.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

The sustainable desing strategy of this series responds to a circular public infrastructure management model, whereby the life cycle of mechanical components exceeds the obsolescence curve of LED technology. The Lowlander lamp incorporates one of the world’s most recycled and durable materials—steel. Reintroducing steel to the production cycle of other industries at end of useable life will produce significant energy savings compared with other metals. Following the implementation of ISO 14001 and the development of the sustainability master plan, SETGA has striven to reduce the carbon footprint of all its components, by designing a long-term recycling system for each one.

Lowlander Catenaria

En esta versión de Lowlander la construcción es ligeramente distinta, se invierte la posición de la luminaria y se utilizan piezas específicas de esta versión. A diferencia de las versiones de brazo, esta incorpora un mecanismo para fijación a cable de catenaria.
El cuerpo de balizamiento que se ilumina es mayor que en la versión estándar.

Se trata del mismo modelo que Lowlander Catenaria, con la salvedad de que no lleva el mecanismo de catenaria que en este caso es sustituido por un brazo específico post-top para poste.
Existe también la versión de brazo a fachada.

Dimensions and installation

The LOWLANDER was born as a solution to the need to create a new concept of urban lantern, an evolution.

The LOWLANDER series is made up of two different types of lanterns: on the one hand the Lowlander Post-Top and on the other the Pendant with its facade version or in catenary mode.

The Post-Top version is placed vertically on a column with a diameter of 60mm. It is a higher lantern that allows you to contemplate a large lighting area with a small beacon upper part.

The facade or catenary version consists of a shorter light body that improves on-site maintenance. The beaconing part encompasses most of the lantern creating a more appropriate atmosphere for facades and allowing the main light bulb to exit from the bottom.
