CAPACITIVE LIGHTING REINFORCEMENT SYSTEM FOR PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS

CAPACITIVE LIGHTING REINFORCEMENT SYSTEM FOR PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS

SETGA develops the Prudenza system to protect pedestrians at pedestrian crossings

The inadequacy of vertical luminance levels at pedestrian crossings in terms of current regulations together with high levels of distraction at the wheel make it difficult to for motorists to identify pedestrians, causing over half of urban traffic accidents.
By detecting the presence of pedestrians, the Prudenza® system, developed by SETGA, intensifies the luminance vertically, facilitating early recognition by motorists, reaching the 40 lux required by Royal Decree 1890/2008 on energy efficiency, in its specific lighting section (GUIDE-EA-02), referring to pedestrian crossings.

Its advanced photometry and optical system (MRLS® – Micro refractive light surface) ensures that drivers experience a level of absolute visual comfort, avoiding any sensation of glare. At the same time, the intermittent beacon system aimed at vehicles reinforces the warning, increases the state of attention and visual focus.
